Frequently Asked Questions

If you're considering therapy, you probably have questions before you reach out. Here are the ones I hear most. If yours isn't here, the free 15-minute consultation is a good place to ask it.

Getting started

The first step is a free 15-minute consultation. It's a short, no-pressure conversation so you can get a feel for me and I can hear a little about what's bringing you in. If it feels like a fit, we schedule a first session from there.

The first session is mostly about getting to know you and what you're hoping to work on. There's nothing to prepare and no right way to do it. You talk, I listen, and we start to map out where you want to go.

Fit matters more than any credential, which is exactly why the consultation is free. A short conversation usually tells you more than a bio ever could.

Fees and insurance

Sessions are 50 minutes and $200, for both individuals and couples.

I'm an out-of-network provider, which means I don't bill insurance directly. I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Sliding-scale slots are sometimes available. If cost is a barrier, ask me during the consultation and we'll talk honestly about options.

What to expect in therapy

There's no set length. Some people come in for a specific challenge and move through it in a few months, while others stay longer for deeper work. You set the pace with me.

We'll decide that together based on what you're working on and what your life allows. Consistent sessions tend to build the most momentum.

My approach is collaborative and grounded in person-centered and mindfulness-based work. In plain terms, I meet you where you are, we look honestly at what's keeping you stuck, and we build a real path forward together.

Online and in-person sessions

Yes. I see clients online anywhere in California, so you can get support from wherever you are. We can do all online, all in person, or a mix.

I have two Los Angeles offices, one in Larchmont Village and one on Melrose Avenue near West Hollywood.

Who I work with

I work with adults across Los Angeles and California, specializing in the LGBTQ+ community. I focus on anxiety, grief and loss, addiction and substance use, and life transitions, along with individual and couples therapy.

No. The LGBTQ+ community is my specialty and my home, and I welcome anyone who feels I'd be a good fit for what they're working through.

Privacy and confidentiality

Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential and protected by law, with a few narrow exceptions your therapist is legally required to explain, such as risk of serious harm. We'll go over exactly how confidentiality works at the start.

No. I keep a no-secrets policy with couples. If something comes up in an individual conversation, it's made available to the other partner. That keeps the trust in the room honest and protects the work.

Still have a question?

The easiest way to get it answered is a quick, free conversation.
